Background of the Study:
Digital media has transformed the landscape of civic education by facilitating widespread access to information and enabling interactive engagement among citizens. In Warri North Local Government, Delta State, digital platforms are increasingly used to educate the public on civic rights, responsibilities, and governance processes (Obi, 2023). This shift toward digital civic education empowers citizens by making governmental processes more transparent and accessible, thereby strengthening democratic participation (Chidera, 2024). Social media, online forums, and government websites serve as essential channels through which information is disseminated, prompting discussions on political accountability and public policy. Nonetheless, challenges such as misinformation, limited digital literacy, and uneven access to technology persist, potentially undermining the effectiveness of digital civic education (Amaka, 2023). Given the transformative potential of these platforms, it is crucial to assess how digital media is being leveraged to enhance civic education and what improvements are necessary to maximize its positive impact on community engagement in Warri North Local Government.

Statement of the Problem:
Although digital media has revolutionized civic education, Warri North Local Government faces obstacles such as misinformation and low digital literacy, which can compromise effective citizen engagement. The gap between the potential of digital platforms and their actual use in educating the public about civic duties remains unclear, calling for a focused study to understand and address these challenges (Obi, 2023).

  1. Digital media significantly improves civic education in Warri North Local Government.

  2. Challenges such as misinformation negatively affect digital civic education.

  3. Enhanced digital literacy leads to improved civic engagement.

Significance of the Study:
This study will provide critical insights for government agencies and civil society organizations to refine digital civic education strategies, ultimately fostering informed and active citizenship in Warri North Local Government (Udo, 2024).

Scope and Limitations of the Study:
The study is limited to examining the use of digital media for civic education in Warri North Local Government, Delta State.
